Controller

General Summary
Loren Cook Company is looking for a Controller that will be responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer in the performance of functions associated with corporate accounting and manufacturing operations. Provide accurate and timely financial information and analysis that allow management to make rational and data-based decisions. Ensure adequate policies, controls, and procedures that provide for the protection of company assets are in place, maintained and are followed. Will participate in financial and accounting matters including general ledger closing, planning and forecasting, cost accounting, inventory control, financial reporting, fixed assets, capital projects and forecasting of cash flow.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participate in monthly closings and preparation of financial statements
  • Conduct financial analyses for management
  • Maintain daily cash position worksheets and coordinate same with management
  • Perform 401(k) plan administrative tasks including contributions, loan, and compliance data reporting
  • Participate in the oversight and administration of the Company’s self-funded health care and workers compensation plans
  • Prepare annual financial forecasts and update monthly
  • Manage the accounts payable, fixed assets / depreciation, and sales /use tax functions
  • Prepare filings for federal and state regulatory agencies as required
  • Prepare information for, and participate in annual financial and benefit plan audits
  • Prepare information for, and cooperate with tax advisors in, the preparation of tax returns
  • Participate in the management of risk, including assessment of risk, provision of information to risk advisors, and obtaining insurance coverage
  • Review and modify existing procedures and establish new procedures as required
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Master’s degree a plus)
  • Additional certification (CPA, CMA, CFM) not required but desirable
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in an accounting leadership role
  • Must be able to communicate in a relatable fashion with top management (CEO and President) in a private, family-owned, closely-held company environment
  • Must be motivated and able to lead and manage a small staff
  • Must be an engaged and ‘hands-on’ leader that is accustomed to performing, not just allocating, the work that needs to be done
  • Must be organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word
  • Must have strong financial analysis and presentation skills
  • Must be able to present financial analyses in a clear and concise manner
  • Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP and tax regulations
  • Manufacturing cost accounting experience preferred
  • System conversion experience not required, but desirable

Engineering Manager

Job Description
Loren Cook is looking for an Engineering Manager that will be responsible for managing product development activities. Candidate will lead Design Engineering team and coordinate with Quality, Marketing, IT and Manufacturing to complete projects and release new products. Direct report to the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage engineering staff and take lead role in project planning.
  • Coordinate development of new/revised products, making detailed timelines/plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Coordinate manufacturing launch for new and revised products.
  • Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to design processes, methods and controls.
Qualifications, Experience, Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on design experience with sheet metal products
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple priorities
  • Possess technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills
  • Ability to develop and lead high performance teams and be a strong team player
  • Previous management experience desired
  • Proficiency with MS Office and experience with CAE software and databases desired
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault preferred

2nd Shift Supervisor

Job Description

  • Review and evaluate production processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Apply and enforce workplace policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure production schedules are met.
Qualifications:
  • Sheet metal fabrication and/or assembly experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in manufacturing.
  • High school diploma/GED is required.
  • Must be goal oriented, organized and have strong organizational skills.

IBM i (iSeries / AS400) Programmer

We are currently seeking an experienced IBM i (iSeries / AS400) Programmer to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for developing new applications, maintenance and upgrade of existing software. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on Web and Windows applications as part of a cross functional team. As a member of Loren Cook’s technology department you have access to the latest IBM i, Windows, Web and Cloud technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience programming on IBM i (iSeries / AS400).
  • Experience with RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE and CL.
  • Knowledge of relational database, including SQL
Beneficial Qualifications:
  • Experience with IBM i operating system admin and system backups
  • Experience with Visual Studio .Net
  • Knowledge in programming and working with APIs and Restful Web Services
  • HTML, JavaScript and Java experience

Production Scheduling Assistant

We are currently seeking a Production Scheduling Assistant in our manufacturing facility. Duties include daily part inventories, document distribution between departments and general clerical duties as assigned. Qualified candidate must be detail oriented, able to use spreadsheets and work well in a team environment. Hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Mon-Fri.

Tool & Die Technician

We are looking for a talented individual with a minimum of 5 years proven experience in the design and construction of progressive dies. Knowledge in the characteristics of various tool steels needed. Die troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle multiple projects is a must. Experience in the design and construction of specialized machinery needed. NC Programming/CAD drawing experience is a plus.

Maintenance Repair Technician - 2nd shift

Loren Cook Company, an industry leader in the manufacturing of air moving equipment, is seeking a repair technician for our second shift. The position requires 3-5 years’ experience in machinery repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidate must possess strong mechanical and electrical skills. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair of a wide variety of metal fabrication machinery, maintenance of building, and various preventive maintenance duties. Must supply own tools and be capable of working independently.

Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a manufacturing engineer, with good communication skills, to evaluate and establish manufacturing methods, evaluate and procure equipment and tooling, and improve manufacturing efficiency. Familiarization with stamping, welding, and general sheet metal fabrication methods is required. The preferred candidate will have an AS or BS in Industrial Technology, 3-5 years of hands-on experience, and be able to efficiently manage multiple jobs at one time.

IT Support Intern

The Loren Cook Company is looking for a talented and motivated intern to join the IT support team. As part of the team you will have the opportunity to work with the following technologies. Nimble Storage SAN, Microsoft Hyper-V clustering, network cabling, router and switch configuration, PC support and deployment as well Windows server administration. The right candidate will provide support in both the office and manufacturing environment.
