Engineering Manager

Job Description
Loren Cook is looking for an Engineering Manager that will be responsible for managing product development activities. Candidate will lead Design Engineering team and coordinate with Quality, Marketing, IT and Manufacturing to complete projects and release new products. Direct report to the Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage engineering staff and take lead role in project planning.
  • Coordinate development of new/revised products, making detailed timelines/plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Coordinate manufacturing launch for new and revised products.
  • Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to design processes, methods and controls.
Qualifications, Experience, Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on design experience with sheet metal products
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple priorities
  • Possess technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail

  • Train, coach, and develop production employees.
  • Review and evaluate production processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Apply and enforce workplace policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure production schedules are met.
Qualifications:
  • Sheet metal fabrication and/or assembly experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in manufacturing.
  • High school diploma/GED is required.

Product Designer

Job Description
Product Designer is responsible for designing and documenting air moving equipment under the guidance of a Design Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models and assemblies of equipment as required for assigned project.
  • Generate the required 2D drawings to document the design and communicate requirements to production personnel and/or customers.
  • Support production as required to communicate design intent to shop personnel.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineer on the development of products to ensure that design standards and structural integrity are maintained.
  • Maintain existing drawings and complete work within the Engineering Change system as required.
Education and/or Experience
  • College degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design utilizing CAD software
  • Hands-on design experience with sheet metal products required
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor desired

Application Engineer

Loren Cook is looking for an Engineer that will be responsible for the design and quoting of custom air moving equipment that meets specific customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Generate engineering quotes for special customer requests.
  • Create special designs or modify standard designs to satisfy specific customer requests.
  • Deliver special product support to manufacturing, customer service, and purchasing to ensure delivery schedule and product quality is maintained.
  • Provide customer support including phone support and plant visits.
  • Visit customer sites as required to trouble shoot field application and installation issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required
Education and/or Experience
  • College degree preferred – Mechanical or related field
  • Experience with mechanical design CAD software
  • Experience with sheet metal manufacturing desired
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred

Software Engineer

Loren Cook Company is expanding our technology team again and is looking for an experienced Software Developer to create and maintain software. Candidate will work with a team consisting of both internal and external developers to build a cutting-edge single page web application.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new software programs
  • Maintain and improve existing software programs
  • Communicate with various departments and members of management
  • Recommend improvements to existing programs and processes

Qualifications, Experience & Education:
  • Computer Information/Science degree or relevant experience in web development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency developing Web applications (JavaScript, CSS, HTML)
  • Familiarity building and using REST APIs & documentation
  • Experience with SQL & databases
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with at least one of these frameworks peferred: React, Angular or Vue
  • Minimum of one-year experience required

Engineering Technician

We are currently seeking a Technician to join our Research and Development team in our state of the art Engineering lab. This person will be responsible for product performance testing, maintenance of testing records and communicating results with our Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Constructing prototype products for testing and evaluation.
  • Performing air and/or sound performance testing per industry standards.
  • Performing additional testing as required for agency listing per UL and ETL standards.
  • Maintaining records for all testing performed, including air, sound, and agency testing.
  • Collaborating with our team of Design Engineers.
  • Calibrating and maintaining testing equipment in accordance with ISO procedures.
  • Maintaining lab organization including equipment and workspaces.
  • Assisting with customer tours of test lab.
  • Using analytical problem solving skills to assist with product development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Associates in Design/Industrial Technology, and/or 1-3 years equivalent experience in manufacturing
  • Excellent hands-on mechanical abilities, using hand and power tools
  • Experience with product testing and documentation preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to occasionally climb ladders or work while kneeling
  • Ability to learn to drive a forklift and use pallet jacks

Tool & Die Technician

We are looking for a talented individual with a minimum of 5 years proven experience in the design and construction of progressive dies. Knowledge in the characteristics of various tool steels needed. Die troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle multiple projects is a must. Experience in the design and construction of specialized machinery needed. NC Programming/CAD drawing experience is a plus.

IT Support Intern

The Loren Cook Company is looking for a talented and motivated intern to join the IT support team. As part of the team you will have the opportunity to work with the following technologies. Nimble Storage SAN, Microsoft Hyper-V clustering, network cabling, router and switch configuration, PC support and deployment as well Windows server administration. The right candidate will provide support in both the office and manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal skills, troubleshooting, organization and time management Experience with desktop operating systems from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Windows server experience a plus Network switch and router configuration a plus.
